"Oum Kalthoum", an Egyptian Series that was aired during the Ramadan of the year 1999, it is talking about the story of the life of the great singer "Oum Kalthoum", and her climbing of the mountain of celebrity and success, and what she suffered from the difficulties and obstacles that she faced in the way of her career. As it talks about also the politic side of the life prevailing in  this period that represents the background events of this Series. The scenario was written by the great author Mahfoud Abdurrahmane, and it was directed by Inaâm Mohamed Ali, the roles were played by : Sabrine as "Oum Kalthoum", Hassan Houssny, Ahmed Rateb, and other actors... At this time, this was so popular in the Arabic World that the Team of this Serie was awarded by a  dozen of Prices and Honours from a lot of countries !

Fatima Ibrahim Sayed Al Biltaji as known as "Oum Kalthoum" (December 30, 1898 – February 3, 1975) was an Egyptian singer, songwriter, and actress. Born in Tamay ez-Zahayra village, which belongs to El Senbellawein, she is known as the Star of the East (kawkab el-sharq). More than three decades after her death, she is widely regarded as the greatest female singer in Arabic music history. The name Oum Kalthoum means Mother Kalthoum and was a stage name...
